Cox Automotive's Journey from API Silos to a Unified API Strategy

Cox Automotive is a multi-billion-dollar entity built through acquisitions. Yet our customers expect all our brand name businesses to work together seamlessly. Our platform team's challenge was to build an architecture that transforms our many "endpoint silos" into a cohesive, composable API platform, thereby unlocking our APIs as an economic asset for the company. In this talk, I’ll share how we convinced our leaders to view this as a product-driven effort instead of technology-driven. This included necessary changes like governance and employing industry-leading technology such as Apollo’s Federated GraphQL.
