Strong community, product and platform innovation, alongside a sharp focus on developer experience drove Apollo’s growth over the last year

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apollo GraphQL, the supergraph company, today announced it was named one of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech companies in North America, now in its 28th year. Apollo grew 885% during this period, earning a place on the list for its second consecutive year.

"Representing all facets of technology, the winners have shown they not only have the vision but can also expertly manage their companies through rapid growth. We congratulate each winner on their impressive achievements."

Apollo’s growth was driven by the company’s continued focus on creating technologies that deliver incredible experiences for developers.

This year, Apollo announced two foundational additions to its platform. In May, it introduced the supergraph, a network of a company’s data, microservices, and digital capabilities that empowers product and engineering teams to quickly create incredible experiences for their customers.

In October, Apollo announced GraphOS, an end-to-end platform for building, maintaining and scaling supergraphs. GraphOS helps teams of all sizes overcome the core challenges of supergraph development by giving them tools to build their graph modularly, perform fast, unified query execution, and evolve their graphs quickly and safely.

GraphOS was announced at the annual GraphQL Summit in San Diego, Calif., which drew more than 1,000 developers from the GraphQL community to attend in person.

“Our company’s mission is to help app developers help the world and we’ve taken a massive step forward in executing on that vision this year,” said Matt DeBergalis, Apollo co-founder and CTO. “The supergraph and GraphOS are cornerstone technologies that will drive how apps will be made in the future, and are being made today at some of the world’s smartest companies. The products we shipped this year will continue to be the foundation of our growth and, more importantly, create incredible opportunities for our customers.”

“As the past year has shown us, innovation in important areas such as life sciences is critical to addressing infectious disease and other global health issues,” said Paul Silverglate, vice chair, Deloitte LLP and U.S. technology sector leader. “In addition, technology must keep pace with ever-changing consumer and corporate demands for faster, safer and more efficient solutions to new societal challenges. Each year I am in awe of the immense talent the Technology Fast 500 rankings reveal, confirming the winners’ relentless pursuit of creativity and their ability to solve real-world problems that benefit us all.”

“This year’s Technology Fast 500 list is a true reflection of some of today’s most determined and inspiring pioneers who have prospered by anticipating what’s next, understanding what’s needed to succeed and driving creativity forward,” said Christie Simons, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP and industry leader for technology, media and telecommunications within Deloitte’s audit and assurance practice. “Representing all facets of technology, the winners have shown they not only have the vision but can also expertly manage their companies through rapid growth. We congratulate each winner on their impressive achievements.”
